But there is more to it.

3. The date and the date can be edited at any time by simply clicking onto it
4. The body - or content and it is of course also searchable
5. Attachments - add unlimited pictures, videos and documents as explained in the next step
5. Flag - or simply a color if you like a 'visual' tagging
6. Location - or the place you wrote that entry or you've been that day

Hint: Every entry can be printed or exported as well.

Safety first!

If we lose a single word document while working with a Mac it is frustrating.
But loosing a complete diary - well I even don't know a word for that…

That's why diary has Auto-save directly built in.
And that's why you also should enable Time Machine - one of the best features of our Macs (OS X).
No, really! ENABLE IT!

I also recommend to make use of Diary's feature to choose a custom location for its database.
Saved in your dropbox for example guaranties automated backups of all your important entries and attachments as well.

Hint: By using the Dropbox you can also keep your journal from different Macs and locations.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ENABLE A CUSTOM DATABASE LOCATION IN THE PREFERENCES,
DIARY WILL AUTOMATICALLY START WITH A NEW BLANK LIBRARY FOR SECURITY REASONS.
ALL YOUR EXISTING ENTRIES ARE SAVE IN ITS DEFAULT LOCATION:
> /Users/Your Account/Library/Application Support/MOAppsDiary
IF NEEDED - SIMPLY COPY THEM TO YOUR NEW LOCATION.
